A Class for You

beginners' gentle yogaThis is a Hatha Vinyasa class that teaches gentle Yoga postures linked together with breath. This slow-paced class focuses on body awareness, relaxation, and pranayama (breathing) in order to strengthen mind and body, while reducing stress. It's a great class for students who want to ease into Yoga—or those with certain physical limitations or health concerns.

beginners' yogaThis class teaches basic Hatha Yoga asanas (postures), breathing (pranayama) and meditation. You'll primarily learn proper alignment, modifications, lines of energy and breath control. Yoga history and the Eight Limbs of Yoga also are discussed. You'll enjoy about 15 minutes of guided relaxation at the end of class. NOTE: If you're new to yoga, you'll be most comfortable in beginners' level classes at first. After you take these for a while, then try some All Levels classes. But remember—no matter what class you take, it's always YOUR class. Just be at ease and practice at your own level.

bellydanceLearn the ancient and feminine art of bellydance in a fun and noncompetitive environment. Classes consist of a unique fusion of exotic bellydance with creative styling, percussive hips, sinuous undulations, fluid control, beautiful arm work and smooth transitions. The emphasis is on posture, technique, muscle isolations and movement vocabulary—all strung together to create beautiful dance combinations. Classes also may include choreography, improvisation instruction, cultural history, costuming and performance dynamics. This truly is an exotic and indulgent class that helps you connect mind, body and soul.

kids' yogaThis array of fun and easy yoga poses, movements and techniques teaches children body and mind awareness. They come away feeling that health and exercise are fun, not boring.

partner yogaHaving fun while learning poses with the assistance of a partner is the spirit of this class. Practicing yoga with another person enables both of you to get more stretch and effect from the pose. Don't worry if you don't have a partner—we have others who need one.

pi-yoThis innovative class combines Pilates training (which is all about strengthening your core from the inside out while staying in control of your whole body) with the beautiful, flowing movements and breathing techniques of Vinyasa Yoga. Come explore how well these two systems compliment each other. You'll be amazed!

power vinyasaThis class is designed to improve your strength, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular health by combining flowing asana movement and conscious breathing. It's very challenging, so be ready to sweat and feel powerful. Then prepare to let go with about 15 minutes of guided relaxation at the end of class.

thai-yoga sessionsThese private, assisted yoga stretches begin and end in Savasana (relaxation pose). Seated, prone and supine positions are used to elongate the stretch and release tightness. Session times run from 30 to 90 minutes and from $35 to $90 per session. Discounts are available with the purchase of a ten-plus yoga class package. By appointment only.
